If you are new in Davao City and you have foreign currency that you need to change to local money, the best place to go is to visit Aldevinco Shopping Center at Claveria St., just across Marco Polo Hotel and Ateneo de Davao University. They have higher rates compared to other money exchange place. They don’t usually offer same rates (its not really a big difference) but you can check door to door and compare. If you’re a local like me you can ask for calling cards and you can call them next time to compare, maybe two or more stores. They also sell souvenirs so you might what to check that as well.

If you don’thave time to go to Aldevinco or you just dont know how to get there, no worries because most of the big malls in the city have now money exchange, it is usually located at malls information booth like GMall and SM Malls, Abreeza Mall it is located at 2nd floor you can easily find it. Victoria Plaza also have money exchange at 2nd floor.

As for me, I usually check online currency rate first, then I’ll call the malls (you can check malls contact info online.) and call Aldevinco so I can plan my trip. If its only cents difference then I just go to the nearest mall for me.

I hope this information help you. I don’t have the updated number in my preferred store in Aldevinco as of now, I tried calling it  but the number is not working. So I will be posting it soon once I confirmed their new numbers.
